Fundamentals Course
-
The Fundamentals course provides the knowledge and
skills for safer, more enjoyable diving, and wil
help you achieve a level of control that
you've never experienced before.
Design
The
GUE Fundamentals course is designed to cultivate
basic skills required for all sound diving practice.
It is focused on increasing diving fun by reducing
stress and increasing diver proficiency through
proper control of buoyancy, trim, propulsion, team
awareness & communication, gas management, dive
planning, and other GUE principles.
GUE
Skills Development
Skill
development starts with all skills being performed
while neutrally buoyant, which is a departure from
what is being taught in basic recreational classes.
A high degree of buoyancy control while learning
propulsion techniques for delicate and silty environments,
precision movement, team communication and positioning,
to the much anticipated backward kick are all taught.
The goal is to increase your capacity not only with
in-water skills, but in how you approach dive planning,
teamwork and problem resolution.
In addition to providing the platform for continuing
your education within GUE, the Fundamentals course
will qualify you to use Nitrox 32% while utilizing
minimum decompression for dives in the 0' -100'
(0 -30m) range.
Duration:
The
Fundamentals course is an intensive 4-5 day class
encompassing academic presentations, land drills,
pool training session/swim test, and five ocean
training dives. Video debrief of all dives is used
to highlight students' strengths as well as areas
that need improvement.
From new divers to experienced divers,
you'll find this class to be educational, challenging
and very rewarding!
